How can I apply for Personal Jewelry Insurance?

It's easy to insure your jewelry with Jewelers Mutual Insurance: apply online.

How are insurance rates determined?

Insurance rates are based on two basic criteria:

1. The retail replacement value of the item, and

2. Our historical losses for the state or county in which the person possessing the jewelry resides. For example, if a mother purchased a necklace for her daughter, the rate would be based on the daughter's state and county of residence.

What is covered under this policy?

Our Personal Jewelry Insurance is a repair or replacement policy that provides coverage for:

  • loss,
  • theft,
  • mysterious disappearance, and
  • damage.

What are the exclusions to this policy?

This policy is not available for damaged watches or jewelry, loose stones that won't be set, antique jewelry, items missing stones or pieces, non-jewelry items, or persons living outside the United States.

How do I add jewelry to my policy?

To add jewelry to your policy, use our online Add Jewelry form, or simply mail, e-mail, or fax a request to add the item to your policy, along with a copy of the appraisal or evaluation (dated within the last 18 months) that includes a complete description of the jewelry, including the value and any applicable sales tax.

We will add the jewelry to your policy and bill you for the additional premium.
