And the winners are... Kelly Rasmussen (left) and her (new best) friend and co-worker, Monika Sheehe (right) of Vermont!

Did Kelly and Monika actually think they’d win? Heck no. But they dared to dream, and, surprise, surprise... Little did they know they’d get a call from Jewelers Mutual staff Wendy Daanen and Tyler Krowiorz. After finding out she won the earrings and yelling “No way!” a few times, Kelly learned that her co-worker/friend Monika was the second winner. The one-person celebration turned larger when she yelled out to Monika, who shares an office with Kelly, that she too won a pair of Kwiat diamond earrings in the contest.

“The only thing I ever won in my life was a jar full of jelly beans when I guessed the correct number inside.” Kelly said. Monika only remembers winning a football jersey when she was younger in a cola contest. Do drool-worthy 3.75 carat Kwiat diamond earrings trump a jar of jelly beans or a football jersey? Perhaps, unless you’re really, really into jelly beans and football jerseys. (Hey, we’re not here to judge.)

After Kelly found out she won, she forwarded the e-mail back to her friends and family and said, “Look, we actually did win these. You didn’t sign up and you missed out!” Why did Monika sign up for the contest after she received the e-mail? “I went to the Web site to check it out… I remember saying ‘yeah, I could use of pair of those earrings.’” And, the rest is history.

As for where the two will wear their new earrings… it sounds like everywhere. In addition to putting on the earrings as soon as they received them, Kelly debuted them at her work-out class the following morning and Monika sported them at her husband’s office party the night after receiving them.

We’d like to congratulate Kelly and Monika, both of whom look stunning in their new earrings, now insured by Jewelers Mutual, of course! We’d also like to send a big thank you to everyone who referred their friends, family, neighbors, in-laws, and co-workers to Jewelers Mutual, making this campaign a huge success.

If you’re just a teensy bit jealous of these two ladies, we don’t blame you. But don’t give up. Look for a new Refer-A-Friend contest in the future and remember to forward your e-mails to everyone you know (and then remind them several times to sign up). Kelly and Monika will tell you, regular people really do win… and if you’re lucky, the prize will sparkle more than jelly beans.
